The Next Step in the MattChevy Saga

Proof Branding Logo

I may have mentioned it before – and I know it’s something I’ve discussed with those of you who are good friends one on one, but I am the type of person that always has to be working toward something. I need a ‘project’ – it can be personal or professional – but without something to work toward, I feel sort of lost.

The last time I felt like that? I honestly couldn’t tell you. It’s a blessing and a curse to have this kind of mentality, because sometimes, being content with where you are is the best place to be. My wife says that I have “life ADD”…I couldn’t agree more.

And so I’ve come to the next step. The next chapter of my life’s journey. Today I’m ‘officially’ introducing my latest endeavor and new company, PROOF.

Who’s Behind the Scenes?

Proof Branding is the brainchild of yours truly and my partner and co-founder Sam Davidson. Many of you know Sam from his company, Cool People Care. He’s someone I truly respect and admire as an entrepreneur, as a partner, and most importantly, as a friend. Sam and I’s history dates all the way back to my early college days, and since then, we haven’t been able to quite shake each other.

This idea sparked over drinks in Nashville only a couple months ago. It wasn’t something we’d been planning for years – but as soon as it came up (even if it was the beer talking), we were sold on it. A month later we signed the paperwork and now, here we are…

What is Proof?

So what is Proof? We’re a full service branding agency. From logo, print, and web design to marketing strategy, communications, and social media engagement and implementation – Sam and I, combined with our amazing designer, Rob Williams, and a team of other trusted advisers make up a team that is armed and ready to handle anything and everything your business or organization may need.

We’re a team of passionate people¬†committed¬†to making a difference. We strive to do good work and work with those who are doing good themselves.

And in short, I couldn’t be more excited for this new chapter in my life. MATTCHEVY (the business) is one of my greatest accomplishments. I would have never imagined it to have 1/2 the success it has since getting let go from my job only seven months ago. Proof is the logical next step, and I’m so excited that I’m here today, able to announce it’s launch to all of you.

For those wondering – Life Without Pants isn’t going anywhere, but MattChevy will be closing up shop as I transition to the new business. To all past and current clients, you’ll be receiving more information on this and what that means for you within the next couple days.

I hope you’ll check out Proof, let us know what you think, and whether you’re interested in working together or just want to grab a beer – drop us a line and let’s chat.

How to connect with Proof around the web:

Thank you to everyone who has supported and continues to support me. This community is one of my greatest assets and I appreciate all of you. I’m humbled and extremely fortunate to be where I am today.

To exciting things ahead! Cheers!

  1. Matt – congrats and good luck! I’m sure I’m preaching to the choir on this page, but like I said on LinkedIn, you not only do great work but you’re great to work with. Those 2 things combined will take you far. Enjoy the new part of the journey…

P.S. Cheers to “life ADD”! It’s good to finally have a name for this condition – I never knew what to call it!

  2. Matt and Sam,

This is SO exciting. I spent some time on your website yesterday and think it is fantastic. Are you hiring? haha Your website was full of energy and it made me want to be a part of the movement.

Go Matt Go! Keep on chuggin’!

  3. I know there will be many, many opportunities for us to collaborate, Nicole (we need to talk more about that soon). I’m calling you this week so we can catch up! Great presentation over the weekend and I know you’re continuing to rock things out up in Chicago…I’ll be getting myself up there soon!

  4. Awesome, Matt, best of luck. I just know you’ll be spectacularly successful, you have a real feel for brands and how to communicate them. But don’t forget us little folk when you’re all rich and famous!

  5. Well done feller(s). Matt this sounds exciting and I think it’s great that you are forging relationships with other people you trust and can share and grow with. Since I’ve begun to travel down the associate path the projects I can help secure, manage and deliver have grown exponentially, and I’m sure they will for you too. As an existing client I look forward to hearing more.

And lest we forget, it was the late great Joe Strummer who said, “Without People You’re Nothing”.

    Well done

  6. Good stuff man. Did you guys incorporate as an LLC? How’s this doing and what are your other companies? I’m in the process of incorporating as well and need all the advice I can get. Thnx, Sam
