Hello Cooper. Thanks for sharing! I looked into ‘Flow’ and it looks really interesting. (To everyone) here is a brief summary of the film:

Irena Salina’s award-winning documentary investigation into what experts label the most important political and environmental issue of the 21st Century – The World Water Crisis.

Salina builds a case against the growing privatization of the world’s dwindling fresh water supply with an unflinching focus on politics, pollution, human rights, and the emergence of a domineering world water cartel.

Kristin. You have the right idea! I am FAR from an environmentalist, it’s all about little changes in habit that can add up to big results. I think I have to buy some plants before I can follow your tip here – but as you said, this is a great illustration of leading by example and it’s showing your kids how easy it is to do your part.

Use water wisely and don't let them take it from you.
If you haven't I suggest seeing”Flow” the movie it off the festival tour and on DVD. It's about way more than conserving water.

It was world water day today – or yesterday – I 'm not exactly sure what time it is, so it was a choice topic.

Matt, your green week idea is a great one, and this is a really helpful list. Lately, I've been thinking a lot about how much drinkable water gets wasted in our country. At our house, we've started keeping a pitcher by the kitchen sink, and dumping in any extra water out of our glasses. Then we use that to water the plants, rather than getting fresh water out of the faucet. It's a small thing, but I think it helps our kids become more aware of the need to conserve water, in general, and awareness is the first step. Thanks for doing your part!
