Technically, that’s The Amazing 5 Minutes and 11 Seconds Blog Review. :)

Haha, yes, yes – technically I don’t think I’ve hit EXACTLY 5 minutes yet. Consider this the “Amazing Generally Around 5 Minute Blog Review”.

Haha, when I switched over I totally forget to program my meta data! That plug-in seems pretty cool, too, I’ll definitely have to check it out.

As for Disqus, I’m definitely going to take it into consideration. I’ve not been a big fan in the past due to the logging in/signing up involved to comment. That was actually the original reason I wanted to switch from Blogger. Maybe I’ll just have to figure out a way to make the comment section look a little sexier. Or maybe I’ll put Norcross on it. Most likely I’ll try Choice A and eventually have to fall back on Choice B. :)

Thanks for the review, hope you like the rest of the re-design too!

HIGHLY recommend you download the All-In-One SEO pack – it’s a MUST for any WordPress user – makes SEO very easy for you.

As for DISQUS – You actually don’t have to register. What’s great about DISQUS is that you can comment as a guest, or sign in with Twitter, Facebook, Yahoo, etc. SO – you don’t *have* to actually have a registered DISQUS account. The benefit of having that account is so you can easily track comments and replies from around the web.

If you decide to stick with standard WordPress comments, download the SUBSCRIBE TO COMMENTS plugin – this will let people sign up to get emailed when someone leaves a comment in that thread. Great for keeping people involved in conversations on your blog: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/subscribe-to-comments/

    I like Ophelia’s Webb because it’s sexy.

There I said it, but she made me say it…or made me feel bad so I said it to cheer her up.

    • http://www.opheliaswebb.com/ Elisa

Haha, I’d like to go on record saying I coerced NO ONE into commenting. :)

Matt – I’m going to work tomorrow (Sundays are blog days) on getting that stuff set up. I’ll let you know when the suggestions are active! Thanks again!

      • http://www.lifewithoutpants.com/ Matt Cheuvront

Look at you – fishing for compliments :)

Sundays are big “blog days” for me too – looks like you’ve already added the option for people to subscribe to comments – great step in the right direction. If you need any help or advice along the way, don’t hesitate to reach out!

Five? Uhm….I might consider this. Changing to wordpress? I have to agree. Ophelia’s site does look unique and sexy. I want sexy! :)

    • http://www.lifewithoutpants.com/ Matt Cheuvront

Sexy is good! :) My first recommendation to ANYONE who has signed up for one of these reviews is to get off of Blogger. If you are even remotely serious about blogging and/or are over the age of 13 – you need to spring a little bit of cash for a domain, hosting, and a WordPress account. Once you make the switch, you’ll be glad you did!

Great review! I originally thought this was a review of what her blog was about. I was pleased to learn that this was a more of a blog check up. I also like the video format…its a nice break from the pure text. Very informative! Great work Matt.

    • http://www.lifewithoutpants.com/ Matt Cheuvront

Thanks Scott. I send out an evaluation form that is completed by each participant that gives me a better idea of the MAIN things that particular blogger wants to focus on bettering. If you dig through the archives of these reviews a bit, you’ll see that each one has some similarities, but ultimately focuses on something different (in one case primarily on styling the “content”). Thanks for coming by!
