When: Thursday, February 12, 2009 from 5:00-8:00PM
Why: Network with fellow twitter-ers, raise money for a good cause, grab some free stuff, eat + drink. What more do you want?
Cost: $10/person – ($10 provides someone with clean drinking water for 10 years!)
The Goal: Raise $4,000 for Charity: Water
The Long and Short of It: Twestival is a worldwide fundraising event (think Live Aid meets technology/social networking/twitter). Cities all over the country and all over the world (over 175 at this point) will gather their local twitter junkies to raise money for Charity: Water, an awesome organization who’s mission is to provide clean water for the over 1 billion people who are without it (FYI that’s one in six people worldwide who are, at this very moment, living without a drop of clean water). Water is something we vastly take for granted here in America – but a lack of drinkable water is an international epidemic. That being said, with very little effort, you and I can still make a monumental difference.

So, Here’s Where You Come In: Make your way over to the Twestival: Nashville website for more information, check out Charity: Water to learn more about their mission and contributions, and go buy your tickets here. We can all spare $10 bucks, you’ll feel good about yourself, you’ll undoubtedly meet some cool people (myself included), and did I already mention there is some free swag and free food? Yeah, go ahead and set your TIVO’s for The Office, 30 Rock, Grey’s, whatever you watch on a Thursday night and come be a part of this worldwide event! 100% of the proceeds go to supportin Charity: Water’s mission of providing clean water for everyone around the globe.
