This entire week at Life Without Pants is dedicated to the graduating class of 2011, saying so long to college and saying hello to the “real world”.
Yesterday I talked about the idea that “tomorrow isn’t forever” and that what you’re doing today almost certainly won’t be what you’re doing in a few years.
Today I’m talking about “climbing the corporate ladder” – or rather, that in today’s world it’s much less about climbing and much more about creating your own path. It’s not about being driven by your ego, not even about settling – those who graduated even a few years ago, like yours truly, have been able to start their own businesses or land their dream job through hard work. I’m here to tell you that it IS possible to be doing anything you want to do.
Watch the video above for more about “shattering the ladder”. It’s going to take hard work, it might involve working at some less-than-stellar jobs along the way, but the ladder you climb isn’t one that someone else will put in front of you, it’s one you’ll have to build yourself. You’re the one who can and will take each step – and now is the best time to get started.
